Instructor:  Elizabeth Londo & Sheri Reda

Dr. Strange joins a long line of Marvel movies based on the original Marvel comic series, with an added twist: it is one of the first Marvel movies to take the viewer to a more mystical source of super-hero power.   The movie tells the story of Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), who undergoes a transformation when a nearly fatal car crash changes everything in an instant. As a result of his injuries, Dr. Strange begins to connect with his true Self and an authentic source of power and ray of hope for the mystical universe. He experiences spells and powers that are based in Hindu mythology, Shambala, and the Book of Vishanti. He undergoes training that anticipates the birth of a new age where the purest souls can live apart from any threats, and thereby serve the world on a higher level than before.
