This movie depicts the life and shenanigans of a discouraged, down and out author, Lee Israel, who is portrayed superbly by Melissa McCarthy. Lee comes up with a dubious plan to make money utilizing her writing skills that is legally and ethically questionable. Eventually it all catches up with her and leads to a downward spiral in her life. Richard E. Grant also stars as Lee’s friend who becomes her partner in crime. This movie received multiple awards and was nominated for 3 Oscars including Best Actress in a Leading Role and Best Actor in Supporting Role. Irv Siegel came to know about Jung over 20 years ago and has become a strong supporter of the Jung Center. Irv is enthusiastic about sharing his passion for film and making Jungian topics available to the public. He is especially interested in the process of individuation and exploring how people find the inner strength to make conscious decisions during significant crossroads in their lives.
