This movie depicts the life and shenanigans of a discouraged, down and out author, Lee Israel, who is portrayed superbly by Melissa McCarthy. Lee comes up with a dubious plan to make money utilizing her writing skills that is legally and ethically questionable. Eventually it all catches up with her and leads to a downward spiral in her life. Richard E. Grant also stars as Lee’s friend who becomes her partner in crime. This movie received multiple awards and was nominated for 3 Oscars including Best Actress in a Leading Role and Best Actor in Supporting Role.
