Instructor:  Cheryl Kinsman

The movie, A Star is Born, has been made four times. This latest version, starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, is a deeply moving love story that vividly portrays the struggle of addiction and its impact on those in the addict’s orbit. It also shows the rise of a new star, beautifully portrayed by Lady Gaga, and thrills with beautiful music performed by both leads. This is an extremely poignant motion picture that presents many ideas for discussion. Themes emerge such as shadow vs. self-realization and male vs. female dominance in the music world. This is a film not to be missed or to see again and again. Directed by Bradley Cooper; screenplay by Bradley Cooper and Eric Roth.
