     10:00 am CDT - 12:00 pm CDT

Held via Zoom
Michelle Gessler, LPC
CEUs: 2

*Limited to 20 participants.

This program will offer an overview, experience, small-group discussion, and large-group Q&A of a trauma-informed approach to healing called Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TSY). Developed at the Trauma Center of the Justice Resource Institute in Brookline, MA, TSY is an empirically validated approach, offering shared experience through invitation and choice-making. Attendees will learn about the history and principles of TSY and then be led through a short session. They will be encouraged to explore feelings evoked through their TSY experience on their own and in small groups. Over one-hundred years ago, Jung envisioned what is now advanced through neuroscience: traumatic and upsetting events have a way of imprinting on us. We may find ourselves so overwhelmed by emotion that we feel disconnected or cut-off. TSY invites us safely to reconnect to our bodies, making choices for ourselves at our own pace. TSY is appropriate for all body types and fitness levels. No prior Yoga experience is necessary.

* Please dress comfortably for simple movements that can be done seated or standing.
