The movie “A Monster Calls” is a visually stunning depiction of the relationship between a young boy and a very tall monster. The monster, resembling a tree, comes along at just the right time after events in the boy’s family result in his feeling lost and alone. The connection that occurs between the boy and the monster illustrates how one soul can encourage and support another when the need is the greatest. Themes of the supernatural, dreams, grief and truth emerge throughout. This film is directed by J.A. Bayona and stars Lewis MacDougall, Felicity Jones, Sigourney Weaver and Liam Neeson.

*Notable reviewers have labeled this motion picture “extraordinary,” “a masterpiece” and “breathtakingly beautiful.”
